ST. CLOUD - Some new high tech street lights are being installed in downtown St. Cloud this week.

Mayor Dave Kleis unveiled the lights, and touted their features, back in April during his State Of The City address.

Assistant Public Works Director Steve Lawrence says the goal is to have them fully functioning in time for the Winter Nights and Lights Parade on Saturday night. Mayor Kleis says they hope to do a ceremonial lighting during the weekend festivities.

Look for the "smart" lights at the corner of 5th Avenue and St. Germain Street.

Besides the light, they also have a camera, digital signage, and an audio system.

Eventually the city plans to have as many as 10 of these high tech lights along St. Germain Street and 5th Avenue.
