Nels Myron Gilbertson, 80, Princeton

Nels Myron Gilbertson, 80, of Princeton, MN died on July 9, 2017 at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River, MN.

Nels was born on December 20, 1936 to Edward and Christine (Nelson) Gilbertson in Greenbush Township, MN. He married Marge Stauffeneker on February 14, 1959 in Foley, MN. Nels was a carpenter by trade and did carpentry for many years; at the end of his career, he worked at Crystal Cabinets in Princeton. Nels enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, golfing, vegetable gardening, watching the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings and especially spending time with his friends playing cards and shaking dice.

Nels is survived by his daughters: Karolyn Gilbertson of West St. Paul; Joan (John) Goeser of Princeton; and Gaylene (Tim) Tracy of Pine City; his sisters: Joyce Johnson of Hastings, MN and Kathryn Reineccius of Princeton; his grandchildren: Latisha (Travis) Paschall, Dustin Kleingartner, Laura Goeser, Leah Goeser and Allyson Tracy; his great-granddaughters: Gracie and Chloe; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Nels is preceded in death by his parents, wife Marge, son Keith, brothers Kenneth and Clair, and sisters Clarice, Hazel and Marvelle.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Princeton, MN. Family and friends may call on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. A private Inurnment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Princeton, MN on Monday, July 31, 2017. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
