WAITE PARK -- Nature lovers will have a chance to explore some Stearns County parks and get insights from a Minnesota Master Naturalist during separate tours in the coming months.

The tours are free and are planned for Thursday and another one in May.

Thursday's hike will be at the Quarry Park and Nature Preserve starting at 6:30 p.m. The tour will highlight the emerging signs of spring, including plants and animals. It will also include information on the swimming quarries, granite outcroppings and restored prairie. Parking is free and you're encouraged to bring a camera.

On May 18th, botanist Crag Lee will bring a tour through Warner Lake County Park near Clearwater. The tour will look at the ecological history of the park which features a swimming beach, creek, hardwoods and pines.
