LITTLE FALLS -- A nationwide fundraiser has helped a local sheriff's office K-9 get a new protective vest.

The charity Vested Interests in K-9s. teamed with Groupon Grassroots to raise over $300,000 dollars to bring bullet and stab protective vests to law enforcement dogs all over the country -- including Rocky, a K-9 for the Morrison County Sheriff's Office.

The campaign ran from February 15th to March 5th and collected online donations to benefit over 350 four-legged crimefighters nationwide.

Each vest costs about $950 and has a five year warranty. Vested Interests in K-9s has provided protective vests for over 1,300 law enforcement dogs since 2009.

Vested Interests in K-9s continues to raise money for law enforcement dogs at their website.
