A State trooper in Forest Lake was hospitalized when a vehicle hit his squad car Monday. He was parked along the shoulder of I-35, assisting a driver when his squad was struck. His injuries were not life-threatening.

It's the second roadside accident on I-35 this month, and Bruce Bechtold, the Chief Deputy of the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, says this should remind drivers to drive slowly and carefully to prevent accidents with emergency vehicles during snowy months.

Bechtold says failure to move over when passing an emergency vehicle along the roadside could result in a ticket and misdemeanor charge.
