Minnesota Surgeon Arrested in North Dakota
PARK RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) - A sheriff in Park Rapids says a surgeon accused of choking his foster son by stuffing a latex glove down his throat has been arrested in North Dakota.
Hubbard County, Minnesota, Sheriff Cory Aukes tells reporters that 50-year-old Dennis James Sullivan Jr., of Benedict, was arrested Tuesday and will be returned to Minnesota by Monday.
Sullivan faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault in Minnesota.
The sheriff says Sullivan was arrested on an outstanding warrant for driving under suspension or with a revoked license after he called a mental health center in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The center contacted police.
A criminal complaint says Sullivan fled after his wife interrupted the assault on the 10-year-old boy.
