ST. PAUL (AP) - Minnesota's longtime state economist is retiring.

Tom Stinson announced his retirement Monday after 26 years in the job. He's the longest serving state economist in Minnesota history.

Stinson, 70, will continue with his work in the economics department at the University of Minnesota.

The state budget agency said Laura Kalambokidis will take over for Stinson. Kalambokidis also is an economics professor at the University of Minnesota.
