The Minnesota Renaissance Festival in Shakopee is wrapping-up its annual run this weekend, despite a fire this morning that destroyed six food booths.

Authorities say the fire started around 6 this morning in the Scotch egg booth and spread to five other booths.

According to Fox 9 in the Twin Cities:

"Campers and performers that stayed overnight at the festival grounds heard an explosion, saw flames, and called to report the fire that was visible from Highway 169.

Crews from Shakopee, Chaska and Carver had the fire put out by 7:30 a.m."

Festival workers say about a third of the grounds have been cordoned-off because of the fire. Even though the festival gates opened an hour late this morning, the final weekend of the festival is moving ahead.
