Mildred “Millie” I. Savage, 90, Waite Park

April 14, 1925 - July 2, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Millie Savage who died Thursday at Sterling Park Nursing Home in Waite Park. The Rev. Mark Innocenti will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church in Tuesday. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Millie was born in Waite Park to Nicholas & Cecilia (Dietman) Strack. She grew up in Waite Park and lived almost her entire life in Waite Park. She married Richard J. Savage Sr. on June 22, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. She was a very happy person who always had a smile. She was a great mom who passed on her simple values to her children and grandchildren. She loved to play cards and spend time at the casino. She loved games and recently enjoyed playing BINGO. She was a very social person and loved being around people. She especially loved babysitting her grandchildren and was always a great dancer. She loved to dance!

Survivors include her children, Gary (Nancy) of Brainerd; Linda (Jim) Schepers of Apple Valley; Richard Jr. of St. Cloud; Gail (Jim) Zimmer of St. Cloud; Jeff (Gail) of Naperville, IL; Patricia (Dean) Haskamp of Waite Park; sisters, LaVerne Christen and Eleanor Strack both of Waite Park; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, David, grandson, Christopher, daughter in law, Diane Savage, and grandson, Brad Savage.
