Medical Examiner Confirms Body Found is Missing College Student

ALEXANDRIA (AP) -- The Minnesota BCA has cancelled the missing person alert for an 18-year-old University of Minnesota, Morris student.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office confirmed today (Friday) the body found in a field in Douglas County Tuesday is Laura Schwendemann.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s officials continue to investigate how the woman died.

Sheriff Troy Wolbersen said she was last seen Oct. 14 at a gas station in Alexandria with the man.

The cause of death has not been released and complete autopsy results remain pending.
