A memorial celebration will be held at 2:30PM on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Country Manor Chapel in Sartell for Matthew R. Dubin, age 45, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, surrounded by his family. Chaplin Adam Sohre will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Matthew was born on August 18, 1971 in Seattle, Washington to Nathaniel “Ned” and Susan (Korpell) Dubin. When he was three years old, his family moved to St. Cloud where he grew up, graduating from high school in 1990. Music was an important part of his life; he played the violin and sang throughout his school years. Matthew went on to attend The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where he developed an interest in sustainable agriculture and spent a summer on a fishing boat in Alaska. After graduating, he returned to the St. Cloud area. In 2000, Matthew suffered a ruptured aneurysm in his brain, resulting in a massive stroke from which he never recovered. He lived the rest of his life as a resident of Country Manor. Matthew will be remembered for his intelligence, sharp wit, wonderful sense of humor and his lasting friendships. He will be missed by those who loved him.

Matthew is survived by his parents; brother, Jonas Dubin of Minneapolis; grandmother, Zelda Dubin of St. Louis Park, and uncle, Herbert Korpell, of Emeryville, CA.

Special thank you to the nursing staff at Country Manor for their devoted care of Matthew.

Memorials are preferred to the Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness (www.friends-bwca.org) or donor’s choice.
