Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00AM on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at St.
John’s Abbey Church, Collegeville for Mary Murphy, 89, of Albany who passed
away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Mother of Mercy Senior Living in Albany.
Rev. Brad Jenniges will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8PM at the St. John the Baptist Church Parish Center,
Collegeville with parish prayers at 5:00 PM on Monday, and one hour prior to
services on Tuesday at the Abbey Church in Collegeville. Arrangements have
been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Mary was born June 29, 1928 in Minneapolis to Joseph and Mary (Meyer)
Schwegel. She married John “Jack” E. Murphy on June 1, 1949 in Collegeville.
Mary was employed as an inspector for Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud for
27 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church in Collegeville, St. Rose of Lima Mission Group, International
Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW )and a member of IAM
Local Lodge #623 in St. Cloud. Mary kept her hands busy embroidering,
crocheting and quilting; her specialty was making blankets. She enjoyed
traveling often times collecting spoons during her journeys. Just like the love she
put into making blankets, she wrapped that same love around her family. Mary
thought her greatest legacy was her children, grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Mary Kay (Andrew) Brixius of St. Joseph, John E.
Jr (Anita) of Sauk Rapids, Patrick (Gloria) of Hay Market, VA, Robert (Zita) of
Avon, Sharon (Michael) Bischoff of Ramsey, Colleen (Tim Cooney) Murphy-
Cooney of St. Joseph, Brian (Robbin) of St. Joseph, Peggy of St. Joseph, Daniel
of St. Joseph; sister, Loretta Feldhaus of Sartell; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John “Jack” E. Murphy;
infant daughter, Joan; brothers, Eugene, Anthony, William, Simon and Theodore.

The family would like to thank the Albany Nursing Home staff for all of their loving
care they provided to Mary for the past nine years.
