Mary Lou Ries, age 85, St. Cloud, MN died Friday, September 19, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 12:30 PM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Monday, September 22, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Parish prayers will be 5:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.

Mary was born December 20, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN to John and Florence (McCormick) Bicay. She married William A. Ries on May 1, 1954 at Ascension Church, Minneapolis, MN. Mary enjoyed cross stitching, camping and traveling with family through out the US. They wintered in Apache Junction, AZ for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, William Ries of St. Cloud, MN; children, Tom (Barb) Ries of St. Cloud, MN; Jim (Chris) Ries of Belle Plaine, IA; Carol (Jeff) Groth of St. Cloud, MN; Jean (Leon) Imholte of Clear Lake, MN; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Joanne Thorseth and 2 brothers.

In lieu of flowers memorial preferred to the St. Cloud Hospital Heart Center.
