Marvin H. Bahe, 86, St. Cloud

April 18, 1930 - September 12, 2016

Funeral services will be at 11:30AM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in St. Joseph for Marvin H. Bahe, age 86, of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully on September 12, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Community in Sauk Rapids. Rev. John Gabrielson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church in St. Joseph on Thursday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Marvin was born April 18, 1930 at home in Waite Park to Arthur and Margaret (Doble) Bahe. He graduated from Tech High School in 1949 and began working for the Great Northern Railroad Company/ Burlington Northern. Marvin married Donna Hennessy on November 29, 1952 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, St. Cloud. He retired in 1995 after 47 years with the railroad. Marvin enjoyed cooking and baking; especially Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Grandpa’s Sghetti. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and most of all being outdoors. Marvin loved walks in the woods, watching the deer go by, and reflecting in the solace of nature. He was quiet, humble, and introspective; yet he had a great witty sense of humor. Marvin will be remembered as an exceptional husband, father, and grandfather.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna of St. Cloud; children, Marva (Rick) Olson of Foley, Peter (Katherine) of Waite Park, Susan (Mark) Curtis of St. Joseph, Mary (Linda Smith) of Foley, Paul (Remae) of Big Lake; son-in-law, John Kruchten of Bloomington; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and greatly anticipated the birth of his great granddaughter, Astara. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharon Bahe; two infant great grandchildren; three brothers, and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred and will be donated to the Minnesota DNR.
