Marion R. Whitcomb, 85, Princeton

November 30, 1930 - August 3, 2016

Marion Ruth Whitcomb, age 85, of Princeton, passed away, Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at her home in Princeton.

Marion was born on November 30, 1930 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Christ and Julia (Storseth) Knutson. Her family moved to a farm in Santiago when she was a teenager and she graduated from Princeton High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Whitcomb on September 25, 1948. Marion assisted Donald in any way that she could with their family owned business, Princeton Dairy. She was a very faithful and devoted member of Bethany Lutheran Church and was also very socially and civically active in the Princeton community. She enjoyed gardening, golfing and was a talented cook. She was the beloved matriarch of the family and was a constant source of support for all of her family members. She will be dearly missed.

Marion is survived by her children Colleen (Jerry) Johnson and Joel (Shauna) Whitcomb; grandchildren, Amee (Joel) Ostmoe, Michelle (Jason) Ostmoe, Kimberly (Ryan) Boudewyns, Joshua (Christie) Whitcomb, Shane (Katie) Sienko, Jaclyn (Rob) Bremer, Candice (Shawn) Hiedeman, Cassandra Whitcomb and Becka Whitcomb; 14 great-grandchilren; siblings, Eilleen Dean, Clarence (Maryann) Knutson, Clifford (Margaret) Knutson, Russell (Karyn) Knutson and Rosemary Knutson; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; and son Philip Whitcomb.
