Marie Bekius, 84, Princeton

March 17, 1932 - May 9, 2016

Esther “Marie” Bekius, 84, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2016 at Sterling Point Senior Living in Princeton, Minnesota.

Marie was born on March 17, 1932 in Princeton, Minnesota, the daughter of Esther Lydia and Theodore O. Zieman. Marie married the love of her life, Raymond Bekius on July 7, 1950 and remained happily married for 55 years until Ray's death in 2005. After their marriage, they rented a farm in Bogus Brook Township for 1-1/2 years, until purchasing their own farm 5 miles NE of Princeton. Marie was an extremely loving and devoted wife and mother - having given most of her time and energy to taking care of her family and working along side her husband on the farm. She will always be remembered as a very caring, giving and compassionate person to everyone who knew her.

Marie was a long time member of the Pease Christian Reformed Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; son, Larry; brothers, Ramey, Bud, Bob and Hermie; and brother-in-law, Dick Gamradt.

She is survived by her son, Gary of Princeton; daughter, Nancy (Josh) Winkelman of Princeton; sister, Doreen Gamradt of Minnetonka; brother, Carl (Diane) Zieman of Milaca; grandchildren, Amber (Jeff) Salo and Crystal (Troy) Lucht; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Marie will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11th, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home Chapel in Princeton with a service to follow at 7 p.m. Family and close friends are welcome.

An interment with the family will be held on Thursday, May 12th at the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Princeton.
