WILLMAR -- A Kerkhoven man was hit by his own truck as he was clearing snow off of it.

The incident happened near the intersection of Highway 12 and 45th Street Northwest in Willmar Township.

The State Patrol says 32-year-old Justin Grothe was clearing snow off his truck on the shoulder of Highway 12 when a car heading east on Highway 12, lost control, struck Grothe's truck and pushed the truck into Grothe.

Grothe was taken to the Rice Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car, 25-year-old Ruth Anariba of Willmar was not hurt.
