Man Falls from Deer Stand, Dies Near North Branch

NORTH BRANCH (AP) - A Minnesota man has died after falling from his deer stand near North Branch.

The accident happened early Tuesday evening in Isanti County.

The sheriff's office says 59-year-old James Swanson of Stacy was found unconscious. Efforts to revive him failed, and he died at the scene.

Sheriff's officials say Swanson was climbing down from his deer stand when a wooden step broke and he fell 20 feet.
