Man Drowns While Swimming in West-Central Minnesota Lake

LAKE LILLIAN --  A 51-year-old man from Olivia has drowned while swimming in a lake in west-central Minnesota.

A possible drowning was reported Friday evening on Big Kandiyohi Lake in rural Lake Lillian. Deputies and first responders arrived to find Ricardo Torres had been pulled from the water and brought to shore by a boat.

Family members were attempting CPR to revive Torres. Medical personnel took over but were unable to revive him.

Authorities say Torres was trying to swim across the channel on the southwest side of the lake when he drowned in about 6 to 10 feet of water.
