ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE (AP) - A man is dead after an overnight officer-involved shooting at a trailer park in St. Anthony Village.

Lt. Jeff Scholl says authorities received a report of shots being fired just before 10 p.m. Thursday at a trailer in Lowry Grove Trailer Park.

Police initially were told there may have been hostages. It turns out there weren't, but officers evacuated surrounding trailers and set up a secure perimeter. The East Metro SWAT Team was also called in.

Scholl says police confronted a man with a rifle outside the trailer. He was shot and killed by police. Scholl couldn't provide many additional details early Friday, but said more information would be released later. He said more than one officer fired at the man.

No officers were injured. The incident lasted several hours.
