MONTEVIDEO (AP) - A man was killed when he tried to move from one hay rack to another during a birthday party hayride in western Minnesota.

A private group was being pulled by a tractor on two hay racks about 16 miles west of Willmar.

The man tried to move from the hay rack closest to the tractor to the second hay rack, fell and was run over.

According to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, it happened about 7:45 p.m. Saturday about a half-mile south of Hwy. 40 in Woods Township.

The victim lived in the township. Authorities haven't released his identity.
