RICE -- Two people were hurt after a motorcycle crash on Highway 10 in Rice Friday night.

The State Patrol says a bike driven by 43-year-old Thomas Knott of Royalton was carrying a passenger and heading south on Highway when he lost control, went into the ditch and crashed.

The Patrol says Knott got back on the bike and headed northbound in the southbound lanes, leaving the passenger behind.

The incident report says Knott eventually made his way into the correct lane before he was stopped by a state trooper in Royalton. Knott was suffering from substantial injuries from the crash. No mention was made about the passenger, 42-year-old Dawn Larson of Rice.

Larson was found about 45 minutes later with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating whether Knott was drunk at the time of the crash.
