Man Charged With Killing His Grandmother in Farmington
HASTINGS (AP) — A Farmington man is charged with killing his 84-year-old grandmother last week.
Dakota County prosecutors Monday charged 35-year-old Timothy Robert Steele with second-degree murder.
Steele is accused of killing Agnes Marie Wagner-Steele, also of Farmington, last Thursday.
Police were called to a home in Farmington where Wagner-Steele was found dead in her bedroom. Officers found injuries on the right side of her head.
According to court documents, Steele told police he hit his grandmother with a hammer seven or eight times in the head. He told investigators he was annoyed by his grandmother blowing her nose at dinner and also believed she caused a hole in one of his jackets.
Bail was set at $750,000 without conditions. Online court records do not list a defense attorney who could comment on Steele's behalf.
