Local Unemployment Holds Steady

ST. CLOUD -- The unemployment rate for the St. Cloud metro area stayed the same in February.

The latest numbers released today (Friday) from the Minnesota Department Employment and Economic Development have our unemployment rate at 7.7% -- same as in January.

The good news is it's our lowest unemployment rate in February since 2008.  A year ago it was 8.3 and two years ago it was 9.7.

The bad news is that our local figure is slightly higher than the state, which is at 7.4%.
