ST. CLOUD -- Charities around the St. Cloud area are gearing up to collect for a month-long, statewide food drive.

The annual March Campaign of Minnesota Food Share starts today in which charities all across the state are challenged to raise as much food and funds as possible for Minnesota food shelves.

Trina Dietz, of Catholic Charities in St. Cloud, says Minnesota Food Share collects donations from state corporations to provide more money when the food drive ends.

Most local food shelves including Catholic Charities and The Salvation Army will participate in the food share, which Dietz says makes central Minnesota's contribution a sizable one every year.

If you want to help, Dietz says you can drop off food or cash donations at Catholic Charities Emergency Services at 157 Roosevelt Road in St. Cloud or visit their website.

Catholic Charities will be also be collecting at their Pack the Porches event on March 20th.
