Lila L. Rasmusson, 96, St. Cloud

March 9, 1919 – February 19, 2016

Lila L. Rasmusson, age 96, of St. Cloud died Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Graveside services will be held in the Benton County Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Lila was born on March 9, 1919 in St. Cloud to Julian and Abbie (Rowe) Leifson. She married Robert “Bob” Rasmusson in April 24, 1937 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN. Their marriage was blessed with four children. They moved to Fergus Falls, MN in 1952 where they worked together at National Bushing and Parts Company, becoming part owners. Upon their retirement in 1974 they returned to St. Cloud. They enjoyed the opportunity to travel, visiting Germany, England, Ireland, Denmark, Hawaii, and numerous places within the continental U.S. Excluding the time they lived in Fergus Falls, Lila and Bob remained members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she was active with the Ladies Circle. Lila and Bob had been married for 67 years at the time of his death in January of 2005.

Lila is survived by her three daughters, Judy McCreesh of McAllen, TX, Betty (Paul) Dobervich of Lake Park, MN, and Eileen Ball of Mesa, AZ; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Gene; sons-in-law J.D. Ball and Bernard McCreesh.
