Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids for Lester D. Haber, age 87, who passed away Monday at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Rev. David Strohschein will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Lester D. Haber was born in Brandon, MN to Albert & Mary (Klein) Haber. He lived in Brandon until moving to St. Cloud in 1948. Les served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Dorothy House Maurer on Nov. 14, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids and they resided in Sauk Rapids. Les was an electrician, belonging to International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #292 and #343. He was employed by Electric Motor Service in St. Cloud for 36 years as Master Electrician and Vice President, retiring in 1993. Les was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the Trinity Cemetery Board. He was also a member of Sauk Rapids American Legion Post #254 and St. Cloud VFW Post #428. Les enjoyed golf, bowling, and crossword puzzles. He was reliable, easy to get along with, and always wanted things to be done the right way. He was a good husband and faithful Christian, church was very important to him.

Survivors include his step son, Steven Maurer of Minnetonka; and grandchildren, Eric (Sara) Maurer of Minnetrista and Michelle Maurer (Rob Iversrud) of Victoria. Les was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy on April 5, 2013; sisters, Verna Hanson, Doris Ritten, Luella Kapphahn and Florence Stabenow; and brothers, Wesley and Norman Haber.
