Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10AM Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Church, lower level, St. Cloud for Leo F. Ferkinhoff, 88 of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Rev. Scott Pogatchnik will officiate and burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud. Visitation will be from 4-8PM on Friday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud and also one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. St. Cloud Fire Department will stand honor guard Friday evening at the funeral home.

Leo was born in St. Cloud to William and Cecelia (Tillie) Ferkinhoff. He was the captain of the St. Cloud Tech High School football team and graduated in 1947. He married Edythe Utz on August 27, 1949 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud and the couple later divorced. Leo was employed as a fireman for the City of St. Cloud until his retirement on January 2, 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tying fishing flies.

He is survived by his children, AnaMari DeLaurier of St. Cloud, William (Karen) of Sartell, David “Pete” (Linda) of Vero Beach, FL, Dick (Vicki) of Waite Park, Susan (Bill) Doll of Maple Grove, Nancy (Ken) Bergerson of St. Cloud; brother, Paul of Sartell; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Ferkinhoff, Bernadette Joyce Ferkinhoff and Marion Ferkinhoff; brother, Ted and longtime friend, Jean Knopik (January 2014).
