Lawmakers Deny Allegations of ‘Making Out’ At Eagan Park
ST. PAUL (AP) - Two Minnesota lawmakers cited for allegedly "making out" at an Eagan park last week are accusing a sheriff's deputy of making up the story.
State Reps. Tim Kelly of Red Wing and Tara Mack of Apple Valley were cited Aug. 25 for causing a nuisance. The Dakota County deputy who issued the citations wrote that the two were making out and Mack's pants were pulled down. Both are married to other people.
Kelly and Mack say the citations on Wednesday, that the deputy's report was untrue. Mack called his statements "egregious and false."
Kelly told the newspaper he met with Mack on his way through town to pick up some documents.
Sheriff Tim Leslie says he stands behind his deputy's report.
