A two month long kayaking excursion by a California man came to an abrupt halt in Saint Cloud Saturday.
47-year old Jeffrey Pearson tied up his craft at a white guard rail near the fishing pier south of the dam on the west side of the Mississippii River near Saint Cloud State University Friday night.
After visiting some friends in the city, Pearson returned to the pier Saturday morning to find his 16 foot kayak gone as well as his personal belongings.
Pearson will remain in Saint Cloud until he can return to California or continue on his excursion.
Police are asking anyone with information that will lead to the recovery of the kayak and belongings to call them at 251-1200.
