June Caroline Stensrud, age 98, St. Cloud, MN, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.

June was born June 20, 1916 in Gaylord, MN to Len and Vina (Groetsch) Mellquist. She graduated from Gaylord High School and St. Cloud Teachers College. In 1960 June received her BA degree from St. Cloud State University. She was a teacher at Lincoln Elementary in the St. Cloud School Distrist #742 for 30 years. June married Raymond A. Stensrud on December 21, 1942. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Maya) Stensrud of Zurich, Switzerland; and two grandchildren, Kirsten Erik and Eva Stensrud.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond on February 16, 1952, son Bruce Stensrud, infant brother, Roger Mellquist and sister, LaVone L. Conkey.
