Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud for John S. Walters, who died Tuesday at his home in Kimball. The Rev. Bruce Timm will officiate.
Interment will be at a later date.

Friends and relatives may call from 4 to 8 PM on Friday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud and also after 10:00 AM Saturday at the Church in St. Cloud. VFW Post #428 St. Cloud will pray at 7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.

John was born in St. Cloud to John and Lena (Lubbesmeier) Wolters. He married Muriel M. Prigge on February 17, 1944 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. John was employed as a sheet metal worker in heating and ventilation for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was an Army veteran during WWII serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. John was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, The Sheet Metal Workers Local #10, the Kimball American Legion Post #261, and the VFW post #428, St. Cloud. John loved attending the Buffington Rodeo as a volunteer helping set up at the rodeos. He enjoyed working with metal, making things with his wire feed welder. He enjoyed westerns on TV and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his wife Muriel of Kimball; sons, Jack (Sandy) of Melrose, Ken (Delora), of Willmar, and Dan (Judy) of Luxemburg; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Stein of St. Cloud, and Rita (Joe) Lehmeier of St. Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ernie Orth, and Gilbert Orth, sister, Shirley Davidson, grandson Jay Walters, and great grandson Jack Orth.
