John P. Cruze, 58, Sauk Rapids

April 20, 1956 - November 12, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for John P. Cruze, age 58, who passed away Wednesday at his home. Rev. Ralph Zimmerman will officiate and burial will be at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday also at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

John was born April 20, 1956 in Morris to Carl & Leona (Rudnicki) Cruze. He graduated from Alexandria Technical College with a degree in law enforcement. He worked for the Foley Police Department until joining the Benton County Sheriff Department, where he retired after 23 years of service. John enjoyed laughing, joking, staying up all night talking, cribbage, puzzles, football, hockey, baseball and all Minnesota teams. He was a passionate and competitive golf enthusiast. John loved fall, Christmas and the holidays. The simple pleasures meant the most to him. He walked in faith, was very generous and was always there for his daughters. John loved his job and was proud to serve his community. Most importantly, John loved spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters.

Survivors include his daughters, Stefany (Dan) Gravley of Bloomington, Samantha (Tony Semmen) Keasling of Lanesboro and Stacy (Salvador Rosas) Cruze of Eagan; mother, Leona of Paynesville; siblings, Roger (Gloria) of St. Louis Park, Michael (Janice) of Litchfield, Diane (Robert) Callaway of Atwater, CA, Patrick (Kathy) of St. Cloud, Anthony (Sharon) of Willmar, Arthur of Paynesville, Marie (Steve) Jennings of Richmond, Gergory (Kari) of Cold Spring and Richard of Sauk Rapids; and granddaughters, Claire and Julia. John was preceded in death by his father.
