Irene A Mathews, 85, St. Cloud

April 26, 1930 - August 22, 2015

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church in St. Cloud for Irene A. Mathews, age 85 of St. Cloud, who died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Dianna Dunham will officiate and burial will be at Benton Cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Friends and relatives may call from 5 to 8PM Wednesday at the Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.

Irene was born April 26, 1930 in St. Cloud to Robert and Anna (Pramann) Hartfiel. She was a lifelong resident of St. Cloud. Irene married Earl Mathews May 18, 1954 in St. Cloud. She had worked as an office clerk for Nash Finch for 40 years. She was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday School Superintendent, and in the church choir. Irene supplied church bazaar homemade foods for years, especially her pickles. She enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. Irene liked music and was devoted to her church.

Survivors include her nephews and nieces, Richard (Joy) Hartfiel, Harold (Patti) Hartfiel, Pat Hartfiel Brisbin (Mike Jensen), Bob (Nanette) Hartfiel, Jim (Maggie) Hartfiel and Carol (Richard) Engelhart, and many great nieces and and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl, July 4, 2008, brother, Virgil Hartfiel and sister-in-law, Myrtle Christle.
