Ione M. O’Leary, 78, St. Cloud

November 12, 1936 - November 3, 2015

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Calvary Community Church in St. Cloud for Ione M. O’Leary, 78, who died Tuesday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Pastor Steve Eckert will officiate and burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Ione was born in St. Cloud, the daughter of Leo and Eleanor (Behrendt) Schmidtbauer. She married Alfred O’Leary on May 4, 1957 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, St. Cloud. Ione was a member of the Church of St. Paul and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 428. She was a homemaker who loved babysitting her grandchildren and she especially enjoyed spending the holidays with her family. She enjoyed being creative and crafting, playing bingo, and finding bargains at garage sales. She walked strongly in her faith and read the Bible daily. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Ione is survived by her children, Brenda (Ron) Orth of St. Cloud, Brian (Shelly) of St. Cloud, Brad (Robin) of St. Cloud, Bruce of Portland, Oregon; siblings, Leona (Robert) Skillingstad of Sauk Rapids, Leon (Gayla) Schmidtbauer of Alexandria, Karen (Rich) Held of St. Cloud, Diana (Dale) Voss of Popple Creek, Lyle (Kim) Schmidtbauer of Sauk Rapids; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred O’Leary; and infant sister, Betty Jane.
