ST. CLOUD - We're facing some seriously hot weather this week, so it's a good idea to make sure your air conditioner is prepared.

Paul Fredericksen is the owner of Fred's Plumbing in St. Cloud. He says basic things, like keeping the filter free and clear of debris, can keep your AC unit in good shape.

But, he reminds you to be watchful for more complicated problems that could require professional maintenance.

Fredericksen says these things are important now, because the dog days of summer are typically when air conditioner problems will start to appear.  He also suggests plugging in your window unit away from other appliances to reduce blown fuses.
