ST. CLOUD — A 36-year-old man’s hospitalized after he says he was attacked and robbed in an alley by a group of men.

The victim — a St. Cloud resident — tells police he was walking home in an alley in the 800  block 7th Street South just after 3 Sunday morning when a group of black men approached him and asked him for a lighter.

According to a police report, the victim says when he turned away, he was struck from behind, knocked to the ground, and robbed of his wallet.

Police say the victim described the group as four black males wearing hooded shirts with the hoods over their heads.  They left the scene in a small passenger car.

Police say the victim received non life-threatening injuries.
