CLEARWATER (WJON News) -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be reconstructing the Highway 24 bridge over Interstate 94 in Clearwater and they're inviting everyone to an open house ahead of the project.

The project isn't scheduled to start until 2026, but MnDOT is seeking feedback on designs and improvements.

The overpass will be rebuilt from 179th Street to Ash Street. Although the current funding only allows for the construction of the overpass, MnDOT project staff are also evaluating the entire corridor between County Road 7 and the Mississippi River bridge.

There will be two open house-style meetings on Thursday, May 9th at the Lions Park Pavilion in Clearwater. The first one will be for businesses between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The second meeting will be for the general public from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

There will be no formal presentation and you can come and go at your leisure.
