ALBANY -- A highway road reconstruction project in the city of Albany is going to cause some headaches for travelers who want to get around town this spring and summer.

Highway 238 will will close between First and Fifth Street starting at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. It will remain closed through late July. There will be signage directing traffic through a detour.

A second phase of the project will close Highway 238 from Eighth Street to Fifth Street from late July through early August. Detours will again be posted.

The closure is necessary for upgrades to power utilities, roadway lighting, curbs and gutters and underground utilities.
