UNDATED - Strong storms were reported in some southern Minnesota counties overnight, but the biggest weather maker was the heavy rain.

From yesterday (Saturday) afternoon through this (Sunday) morning much of central Minnesota reported 2 1/2 inches of rain, or more.  The St. Cloud Regional Airport officially recorded 1.79 inches of rain on Saturday and Sunday.  Just since Tuesday we've had over 4 1/4 inches of rain in some parts of the St. Cloud area.  Some areas may have recorded even higher amounts.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Long Prairie river in Long Prairie.  The watch will go into effect on Wednesday morning of this week, that's when experts predict the water levels will peak.  Several other rivers and streams in central Minnesota are expected to be high this week as well, due to the recent rain.
