MOUNT VERNON, S.D. (AP) — Neighbors, friends and family showed up this week to help the father of Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway.

Alan Greenway, of Mount Vernon, has been fighting leukemia since early last year, though it's in remission.

He's had to make regular trips to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for therapy, making it impossible to keep up with chores on the farm.

So to ease the stress of harvest, volunteers gathered this week to get about 500 acres of soybeans out of the field.

It took about 30 people roughly five hours to harvest five bean fields.

Chad Greenway says the support is great and all that help makes it easier on his family.
