Grand Rapids Corrections Officer Admits Sex Assault

   GRAND RAPIDS (AP) - A former officer at a juvenile correctional facility in northern Minnesota has admitted to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

The Itasca County Attorney's Office said Tuesday that 24-year-old Devin Wood of Grand Rapids pleaded guilty on Monday to three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He assaulted the female resident at the North Homes Juvenile Correction Facility in Grand Rapids in April.

The plea agreement calls for Wood to receive a prison sentence of about eight years. He is in custody and will be sentenced in October.
