MINNEAPOLIS - Trevone Boykin and his buddies at TCU have grown tired of hearing about last season.

The second-ranked Horned Frogs, with their highest preseason ranking ever, finally get to start fresh. They get an early opener at Minnesota on Thursday night.

Perceptions of TCU and its senior quarterback have certainly changed in a year's time. Going into last season, TCU was coming off a 4-8 record and putting in a new up-tempo offense with a relatively unknown quarterback.

Boykin is now an early Heisman Trophy front-runner. He accounted for 4,608 total yards and 42 touchdowns last season when the Frogs were 12-1 but got left out of the first playoff.

Minnesota went 8-5 after a 6-1 start. That early loss was 30-7 to TCU after the Golden Gophers had five turnovers.
