OTSEGO (AP) - A 6-year-old girl is in fair condition after she was struck by a school bus on the last day of classes in Otsego.

The girl is identified as Keira Devens, a kindergartner at Otsego Elementary School.

The Wright County sheriff's office reports the girl was hit by the bus about 3:15 p.m. Thursday after she stepped off close to her home.

Sheriff's Capt. Dan Anselment says the girl's parents were waiting in a car just across the street because it was raining.

Anselment says the bus was making one of its early stops on the route, meaning there were "lots of students on the bus."

The girl is listed in fair condition Friday at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.
