ST. CLOUD - Stearns County wants to help low-income homeowners replace unsanitary subsurface septic systems.

They've secured a grant to assist in replacing septic systems that present an imminent threat to public health - including those discharging sewage into ditches, storm water drains and other open spaces.

The funding is only available for a limited time. Interested residents should call the county at 656-3613.

Last year, this same grant for $427,000 helped 47 Stearns County residents replace their septic systems.
