Former Brigitte’s Cafe Owner Dies

ST. CLOUD - A former St. Cloud area restaurant owner famous for the cafe that bears her name has died.

Brigitte Schneider died on Saturday at the age of 84.

Schneider bought the former Fred's Cafe on Highway 10 in East St. Cloud in the 1960s. She renamed it Brigitte's Cafe in 1968 and moved it to Clearwater. She sold the business to her kids in 1998. They moved the cafe to the current location about 15 years ago.

Funeral services for Brigitte Schneider are scheduled for Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud.
