FOLEY -- Foley city officials want to bridge the gap between downtown and other businesses.

The city council and planning commission met last night (Monday) to discuss a downtown plan and better pedestrian routes.

City Administrator Robert Barbian says the city wants to look at existing sidewalks and pathways to see if they can't connect them better for residents to get around.

Not just in down town but other areas in the city as well.

He says right now there are some area businesses that don't have proper pedestrian walkways on high traffic areas.

The city council and planning commission voted to conduct a study to see where in town could improve.

Barbian says it would be a short study and would be brought back the the council for review in the next year.
