FluMist Nasal Spray Not Recommended for This Flu Season
ST. CLOUD -- If you haven't gotten your flu shot, now might be a good time to get one.
Jon Dennis is the Adolescent Medicine and Pediatrics doctor at St. Cloud Hospital. He says another thing that doctors are not recommending this year is the FluMist nasal spray.
"The recommendation for not using the FluMist came out of the Center for Disease Control. When they reviewed the FluMist for the last couple of years in two different studies, they found that it didn't cover very well for the flu strings"
The center will reevaluate the FluMist again next year.
Dennis says it's very important that everyone gets their flu shot and not wait until last minute. He also adds getting the shot does not get you sicker.
