Fight at Austin High Results in 2 Arrests

AUSTIN (AP) - Administrators at Austin High School are checking backpacks before and after classes this week following a large fight and the arrest of two people.

A liaison officer called police to the high school Monday afternoon when the fight broke out. Police say a witness reported a man with a gun. The man was chased by officers, but no firearm was found. The man was taken into custody and later released.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested for obstruction and later released. Several students were injured during the fight and paramedics were called.
