Fern F. Michalski, 94, St. Cloud

Fern F. Michalski, age 94, St. Cloud, MN died Friday, September 4, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Sartell, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Fern was born November 30, 1920 in St. Paul, MN to Thomas H. and Hazel (Spear) Frame. On August 2, 1941, she married Anthony “Tony” J. Michalski in St. Paul, MN. She worked at 1st National Bank, St. Paul, MN then while Tony served in the US Army overseas during WWII Fern worked at Holman Field in St. Paul, MN in the construction of aircraft. At the age of 41 she returned to college at St. Cloud State University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Elementary Education. Fern taught in the St. Cloud School District 742, then worked for JC Penney and then St. Cloud National Bank. She did volunteer work at the St. Cloud Public Library. Fern enjoyed reading, stamp collecting, sewing, and handwork of all kinds. She was a member of AAUW and First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include sons and daughters, Sandra (John) Reishus of Apple Valley, MN; Peter (JoAnn) Michalski of Anchorage, AK; Michael (June) Michalski of St. Cloud, MN; Susan (Barry) Coyne Michalski of Roseville, MN; John (Peggy) Michalski of Spokane, WA; Jeffrey (Virginia) Michalski of Sartell, MN; sister, Juanita M. Morgan of Chisago City, MN; brother, Thomas H. Frame of Inver Grove Heights, MN;17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony on October 21, 2009 and sister, Phyllis Y. Rohling.
